The 3rd tournament of the 2002 year held on a cool but dry day for golf. The only problem was carts were not allowed off the paths. The ground was a little wet but it did not rain the day of golf. Unless we have wet conditions again, all tournaments we will play the ball down from here on.  This course was by far the best priced and manicured greens we have played so far this year. The scores were a little higher but will definitely drop at Hueston Woods. The winners are as follows:

In an effort to get information to the members TJ Cope has developed a website with information about past and future tournaments. Log on if you have Internet and check it out. We will try to use more of this in the year 2002. Entry blanks can be obtained by going to the entry and printing out the form. The web page site is:

www.tjcope.net/maga

The next tournament will be held at Hueston Woods. This will be the earliest of all our tournaments during the year. The cost for this tournament will be $39. Included in this price will be golf and tournament prize fund.  Carts can be obtained for an additional $10.50 per man. You can walk at this course if you want too.

The date of this tournament will be June 8th with tee times starting at 8:00 AM. The format of this tourney is a  4  MAN TRIPLE BEST BALL. Sign up as a twosome or foursome.  Like all our remaining tourneys full handicap will be used.

IF PLAYERS DO NOT HAVE A PAID HANDICAP AND AT LEAST 5 SCORES, THEY WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY HANDICAP FOR THIS TOURNAMENT.

For all members there are optional side pots that consist of:

$10 Low Gross

$5  Low Net

$5  Skins

These side jackpots can be sent in with your entry fee if you know that you are going to get into them. This will help free up time for the people running the tournament to also hit some balls. All players should check in at the table or designated location so the tournament committee knows they are at the course and also to see if they are interested in getting into the side jackpots. If you have a preference on tee times, we will try to accommodate you if possible. The earlier your entry is received the more chance you have of receiving the request.

The deadline for the Hueston Woods  Tournament will be Thursday May 30th. So mail your entries in as soon as possible.  If your entry is not received before Thursday, you could be shutout.

Because this tournament is only three weeks after our Beavercreek Tourney there was not much time to get out the entries for Hueston Woods. Therefore return your entry blanks back as soon as possible. No spots can be held. If you want to play return your entry and money on time. The July Tournament is scheduled for July 20th at Hickory Woods.

For people who are mailing their entries in separate, make sure your partners also mail in there entries. There is no dress code at this golf course.

Before turning in your card it is your responsibility to check the scores and make sure they are right. If there is a mistake tell your partners and make the correction before turning in the card. We, the board, do not check scorecards unless your team or an individual cashes in one of the side games. If you turn in an incorrect card that is higher, the board does not change the score.
