July
2025

The 4th tournament of the year was played at Hueston Woods on a nasty and wet day. Our next  tournament will be July 19, 2025.

But before we give the results there is a major problem in recording scores to your handicap system. Lets get it straight I do not put any scores in your Ghin Handicap. That is up to the individual golfers to do. After checking to see if scores are added I have found multiple golfers who do not record their scores. This is a warning that if I don’t see MAGA scores recorded in your GHIN I will lower your handicaps at the next tournament. Some people have not entered any scores at all. I will check your scores July 1st and make adjustments if they are not recorded. If you need to know your MAGA scores send me a text and I will send you the scores. If you do not record the scores it is not fair to all that do.

The 4th tournament of the year was played at Walden Ponds with  20 players on a day that was pretty nice weather wise. Try to encourage new players to join. They must have a USGA handicap. Hopefully we can continue to add more new golfers or old ones from the past. Next tournament at Kings Island is on Saturday July 20th. The format is three person double best ball. You may pick your foursome to play with but teams will be determined by a blind draw after golf.

Before we give the results there is a little matter that needs to be taken care of. Before you start the tourney you should put an identifying mark on your ball so you can determine it is yours. We had a member not only play the wrong ball once at Walden Ponds but twice in the same round. I suggest he gets a different color ball, like pink, so he will know which is his.

The tournament winners were:

1st Place  $100 @ team – 32 pts.

Brad Mattingly – Nick Edwards

2nd   Place $60  @ team – 31 pts.

Steve Harrison – Russ Yenser
