The first tournament of the year started out with 23 golfers. I thought the weather was windy but not bad for early in the year. The greens had been aerated and were a little bumpy.

The deadline for entry into tournaments is 10 days prior to the date of play. That means if mailing entries it sometimes takes 7 to 10 days to get to the post office. So get them in early. If you don’t want to mail they can be dropped off at my home address.

 For the people who have not paid for their USGA handicap that needs to be done or you will be penalized for not doing so. I will adjust your handicap accordingly. If you don't have a paid USGA handicap in the GHIN System by next tournament your handicap will be lowered. If you don’t have a handicap in the Ghin System an adjustment will be made and it will lower your strokes.

Remember to check which tees we are playing in the future.

Congratulations to Scott Shaw who won the first tournament along with his guest Jeff Zimmer. This may be the only tourney Scott plays this year since he has moved to Virginia after his retirement.

 The next tournaments will be held at Beavercreek on Saturday & Yankee Trace on Sunday. The entry fee is $65 for Saturday and $65 for Sunday. The format is a 4 man double best balls on Saturday. Sign up as a twosome and we will blind draw teams. Sunday will be a 2 man both balls. and a 4 man double best ball on Sunday.The date is May 18^th and May 19^th . The entries are due by May 8^th .Tee times start around 12:30 on both days.

Make sure you post your MAGA scores in your ghin handicap after our tournaments. I will randomly check to see if scores were entered.

For the people who have trouble getting their entry in on time, you need to make sure it gets in the mail ahead of time to be received by Wednesday so I can get the entries before Thursday. Because of slow mail now remember to mail your entries in early. Allow at least 7 to 10 days before due date.
