The 1st tournament of the year was played at Hamilton Elks with 28 players. This included 2 new players Mark Nagle & Dave Saniga. It was a dreary cool day. We played the senior tees but it didn’t reflect any better scores from most. Hope they continue to play and bring some more players with them. I thought the course was in pretty good shape for this early in the year except that the traps that needed to be raked. With people having handicaps at a bunch of different locations this year don’t forget to enter your MAGA scores at the appropriate locations.

 For the people who have not paid for their USGA handicap that needs to be done or you will be penalized for not doing so.  I will adjust your handicap accordingly. If you don't have a paid USGA handicap in the GHIN System by next tournament your handicap will be lowered. For those of you who switched your handicaps to a different course you need to make sure that course gets your old Ghin number so it will pick up your past scores. If not it will be like starting over and you need at least 5 scores to establish a handicap. If you don’t have a handicap in the Ghin System an adjustment will be made and it will lower your strokes.

This was Dave Saniga’s first tournament and he started with a vickory in team and low net also.

The next tournaments will be held at Cassel Hills on Saturday & Yankee Trace on Sunday. The entry fee is $55 for Saturday and $57 for Sunday. The format is a four man triple best ball on Saturday and a three man double best ball on Sunday. Saturday will be a blind draw for 4 man teams and Sunday will be a blind draw for 3 man teams. You can pick your own foursome on Sunday but will have a blind draw to pair up teams. The date is May 15^th and May 16^th . The entries are due by May 5^th. Tee times start around 12:30 on both days.

After May the following tournaments are scheduled:

Make sure you post your MAGA scores in your ghin handicap after our tournaments. I will randomly check to see if scores were entered.

For the people who have trouble getting their entry in on time, you need to make sure it gets in the mail on Monday so I can get the entries before Thursday. Remember if you do not have a handicap in the GHIN System by next tournament I will decrease your handicap from what it may be if you had a handicap.
