MAGA

July
2020

The 4th tournament of the year was played at Kings Island. It was a beautiful day even though the temperature was in the 90’s. I will give the results after a few tidbits.

I would like to thank all of the golfers who donated their time or contributions in helping with the aide of finishing my deck at my home after learning of my disease. It would have been impossible at the time for me to continue on it. A special thanks to Jim Drury and Mark Mattingly who came up with the initial idea and orchestrated the project.

Now back to golf, I was informed by MAGA members of some knowledge of players who are not logging in all of their scores to the handicap system .In order for the handicap system to work all scores should be recorded not just MAGA scores. One of our members works at a golf course and talked about his scores and plays their regularly but has not recorded a single round this year at the course. Don’t make other people police your scores but record all scores high or low. This is the only way the system works.

The next tournament is at Beavercreek Golf Course. The date has been changed from August 15th, Saturday tee time s will start at 11:00 AM. It will be a three man blind draw after golf for teams. Double best ball will be the format. You may pick your own foursome to play with but teams will be determined after golf.

In an effort to get information to the members TJ Cope has developed a website. The web page site is: TJCOPE.NET/MAGA

This is a 3 man double best ball format. You can pick your own foursome to play with but we will have a blind draw when you finish to determine teams. Don’t leave until you have drawn a card to see which team you are on. You can sign up as a twosome or a foursome if you want to play with someone.
