The 3rd & 4th
tournaments of the year was played at Kings Island & Yankee Trace. The
weather was brisk too say the least on both days. All MAGA scores should
be entered by the individual after MAGA tournaments. If I do not see the
scores by June 1st I will enter them for you if they are going to have
an effect on your handicap. We use the lower of the 2 USGA and MAGA.
There also has been some concern about the distances we play from.
In an effort to please the majority I have tried to keep the distances
between 6100 to 6200 yards. With the majority of our group between 50
and 70 years old, we dont want to play too long. Although there are a
few golfers who cant reach the par 4s in two shots we still want the
others to enjoy their rounds too. So we will all play the same tees,
except for women, for future tournaments. It would be impossible to
allow players by age or abilities to play a different set of tees.

The
deadline for the Hueston Woods Tournament will be Wednesday June 1st .
Entry fee for this tourney is $45 per man which includes greens fee and
prize fund. Carts are not included in this price. You must pay for your
own. The tee times will start around 9:00 AM. This is a 2 man both
balls. You can sign up as a twosome or a foursome if you want to play
with someone. Individuals who do not have partners need to send in their
money if they want to play too. I will try and pair them together if
possible.
As we found out people who did not have a paid USGA
handicap card was penalized from the last 2 tournaments. With this
warning in place everyone is expected to have a handicap for the rest of
the year.
