The Hickory Woods  tournament was played at a shorter course and the scores were lower for most. Congratulations to Rick Welfare who had 5 birdies and all 5 were good skins.

You would have to admit that Hickory Woods par 3’s have some of the best scenic views of all the courses we play.

On a sad note MAGA would like to wish Greg  Emerson best luck and comfort while fighting lung cancer. Our prayers and best wishes are with him in his fight with this dreaded disease.

The next tournament will be held at Shaker Run Golf Course. The date of this tournament will be September 13th   with tee times starting around 12:00 PM. The format of this tourney will be a 2 man modified stableford system. The deadline for the Shaker Run Tournament will be Wednesday September 13, 2014 . Entry fee for this tournament is $55. You may pick your own foursome if you want too.

On Sunday September 14, 2014 we will play Armco Park with times starting around 9:00. The format for this tournament is a two man best ball with players receiving half of their handicap. Entry fee is $35.  Like always there will be closest to the pins on every hole.  Also you sign up as individuals and will pick your partner when you finish.

Also it was brought to attention of some players lack of entering scores for handicap purposes. I rarely enter a MAGA score unless told by someone to do so but I have entered scores from some of the low nets that were missing after tournaments. Do your part and enter all scores in your USGA or I will have to make adjustments to your handicaps. If MAGA scores are not entered by the end of August I will add these scores for you.

Also some players were late getting their entries in for Hickory Woods and were left out. The deadline for the next tournaments are September 3rd. This means the monies must be in by then.
