The final tournament of the year 2010 was capped off with the excitement of Jim Drury recording his second hole-in-one in a MAGA Tournament on hole #2 at Wildwood Golf Course using an eight iron. His first was made at Shaker Run on hole #5 in 1999. Congratulations to Jim for the feat.

On the team side, the winners for the 4 man stableford  system format was Jeff Young, Chris Wyler, Ken Parker and George Lackens with a point total of 75. The alternative game of the single best worst ball was won by Russ Yenser, Larry Lawson, Dan Price and Tim Smiley with a score of 88. Here are the tournament winners:

This concludes the schedule for the 2010 season. Hope to see all of you next year in the MAGA. The tournaments will run from March through October in the year 2011.

Also there is a group of golfers that are going to Florida in late February 2011 for an annual trip. The cost of this adventure is  $910. This includes lodging with free daily hot breakfast and free happy hour from 6 to 7 for the 5 night stay. Also included in that price is around $120 to cover the prizes for each day. If anyone from MAGA would be interested you can contact Russ Yenser 513-571-7931 before the end of October. We are looking to get 20 players. For more information give us a call. We play 6 1/2 rounds of golf and stay 5 nights. This trip is usually from Sunday thru Friday February 20th thru February 25th. We are going to Florida this year to get temperatures up in the 70’s or higher.

A big issue for me this year was getting your scores posted on your USGA. Some people were penalized for not submitting their scores from MAGA Tournaments. I singled out a few of them in one newsletter. If this happens next year their handicaps will be adjusted to compensate the lack of entries. These can be put in on the internet from home with your name and GHIN number. It only takes a minute or two.

Next year there will be some additions and subtractions from the courses we have played in the past. We will be adding Yankee Trace, Hickory Woods and possible Sharon Woods next year and eliminating Blue Ash for sure.
