The 1st tournament of the 2010 year was held at Stonelick Hills on a nice day. We had 36 golfers for the first tournament. Remember to sign up for your handicap cards as soon as possible.
I can’t go on without recognizing a MAGA record that will be hard to beat in Mark Mattingly 6 putting the opening hole at Stonelick for a score of 10.
Because of a mistake in figuring skins, people who were paid at the course owe $3 in return per skin. One was overlooked because a member was not in the skin game.
Remember if you are entering as a foursome to put it on your entry for Weatherwax Tourney.

Remember to pay your membership fee even if you have not played yet. Anyone who hasn’t paid by May will be dropped from e-mails and future mailings.
The next tournament will be held at Weatherwax Golf Course. The cost for this tournament will be $45. The date of this tournament will be April 17th with tee times starting around noon. |
The format of this tourney is a 4 man all balls. Sign up as a twosome or a foursome. If you are a member or work at Weatherwax the cost is $15. No carts are included in these fees. The deadline for Weatherwax is April 7th.
Like all our remaining tourneys full handicap will be used. All players need to pay for their handicaps so they can be found in the GHIN System. Scores must be posted at your respective courses.
For the new members there are optional side pots that consist of low gross, low net and skins. If a person didn’t have a paid handicap for the first tourney he should get one before the next date. Some courses will drop you at the beginning of the calendar year. So get your handicap cards paid before the next tournament.
People continue to get their entries in late. Don’t be mad if you are shut out of future tournaments. The 2 tournaments in May at Blue Ash & Beckett Ridge the due date for entries will be 14 days prior to the first tournament which is May 1st. This is because the course needs to know how many players by then.
There are months throughout the year that have 2 events for a given month like May, July and September. So save your money so you can enter as many as you can or want too.
Some people continue to not post scores for your GHIN handicap. If this is abused this year, your handicaps will be adjusted and your scores will be added especially if you cash in the team game. If a person enters all their scores then the handicap system will work its self out, high and low. |
