MAGA

June
2009

The 3rd   tournament of the 2009  year was held at Beckett Ridge on a day that was beautiful weather wise but a little windy. The course I thought was in great shape especially the greens. We are lucky MAGA doesn’t disqualify you for wrong scores or we would have had 5 players disqualified at Beckett Ridge. Check your scores before you turn them in. On one of the scorecards three of the four scores were wrong. This team tied for second place.

The next tournament will be held at Hueston Woods on Saturday and Weatherwax on Sunday.  The date of this tournament will be June 6th & 7th with tee times starting around 9:00 AM on Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday. The format of this tourney is a 2 MAN both balls on Saturday and 4 MAN THREE BALLS on Sunday. Sign up as a twosomes and teams will be blind drawn.

This price of $45 does not include a cart or range balls for each day. The deadline for this tourney is May 27, 2009. You can walk if you want too. People will be paired by a blind draw.

Handicaps are the responsibility of the individuals. I do not post scores for your USGA handicaps. You must do that yourself.  Many people did not or do not have the right amount of scores for your USGA handicaps. Like all of our remaining tourneys full handicap will be used. We do occasionally check to see if some of our people post scores. If someone continues to stay at a higher handicap in their USGA without posting all their scores we will question their handicaps and adjust if necessary.  If you don’t have a paid USGA handicap by this tourney

your handicap will not be adjusted up at all and may be reduced. People who do not have a paid handicap from here on out will not receive the adjusted handicaps to the course rating we play. Some players played in more MAGA Tourneys than they had posted scores from last year. This will not be tolerated and is not fair to the people who do post their scores. There are some that don’t even post their high scores either. You can post your scores on the internet from your home. If you need help in doing this, give TJ Cope a call and he can explain it to you.

Remember the next tournament is a two day tourney. You can play either day or both days if you wish. By playing both days you can win the two day bonus.
