The beginning of this letter is intended for the people who have not paid for or renewed their USGA Handicaps Let this be a warning, if you dont have a USGA handicap your assigned handicap will be reduced to insure your lack of inserting scores to your handicap system. There is no reason a person has not paid for their 2009 handicap by now. Although the weather was beautiful for a day of golf, I cant say the same for the course conditions. Everyone is playing under the same conditions but for the price we are paying I expect a little better for one of the nicest courses around when maintained the way it should be. Next year we will have to think of playing later in the year or dropping this course totally. This is the last letter that will be mailed to MAGA members who have not paid their 2009 memberships. In an effort to get information to the members TJ Cope has developed a website with information about past and future tournaments. Log on if you have internet and check it out. We will try to use more of this in the years to come.. The web page site is: TJCOPE.NET/MAGA
Also individual and team scores can be seen on the website for every tournament. Also there is a list of all active members along with their handicaps on this page.
For some of the new players, there is an accumulated yearly point system that pays out at the end of the year. These points can be seen on the website under yearly results. We hope the new players can recruit some friends to join MAGA also. There is a $5 rebate for every new member that joins.

The next tourney is May 9, 2009 at Beckett Ridge. The format is four man double best balls. Tee times will start at 11:00 AM. The cost of this tourney is $55 that includes greens fee, cart and prizes The entry deadline is April 29th.
Remember to send in your side games with your entry so there is no confusion and you are not left off the list.
There was another MAGA record set for the Shaker Run Tourney that belongs to Craig Hunter. He was awarded the highest handicap ever from a MAGA member, 41 strokes which he used to finish tied for 5th and pocketed $10. With his 15 on hole #4 he was high man gross.
Remember it is up to the individual to put in all your scores for handicap purposes, good or bad.
