The 7th & 8th tournaments of the year were played on 2 hot days. On Saturday there was a five way tie for first place. Each team receiving $84. On Sunday with about half the players after a corrected scorecard the winners were Randy Combs, Jamie Johnson, TJ Cope and Jim Caulfield with a score of 218. Saturdays field was the largest of the year with 48 players. Sundays golf at Moss Creek was minus the sand in the so-called traps. Other than that the courses were in pretty good shape. They could use some water to help the dry areas.

Sunday results were as follows with a lesson to be learned that no putt is a gimmee. Darrell Townsends missed putt of less than a foot cost his team a tie for first. It only cost each man $25.

The next tournament will be held at Hueston Woods Golf Course. The date of this tournament will be September 21st with tee times starting around 9:00 AM. This is a rescheduled tourney for our rainout in June. No player is in this tournament unless they send in their entry. If you had a refund you still must send in the entry with a note that you want to use your credit. The format of this tourney will be a two man both balls with full handicap. You may sign up as a foursome, but this is a two man format. The deadline for the Hueston Woods is Wednesday September 11th . Entry fee for this tournament is $43. No carts are included with this tournament.
Note this tourney is on a Sunday.
The last tournament for the year will again be played at Wildwood on October 11th with tee times starting around noon.
Just a reminder if you X-out or dont finish a round it not only hurts you but also your partner. If this would happen in a four man team event it may eliminate you from teaming with other twosomes under the circumstances. If you have to quit because of an injury or illness, this will be excusable and we can blind draw the necessary partner, but not if you elect to just quit because of your playing bad. This prevents me from entering a score for handicaps. |
