The beginning of this letter is intended for the people who have not paid for or renewed their USGA Handicaps. Let this be a warning, if you don’t have a USGA handicap your assigned handicap will be reduced to insure your lack of inserting scores to your handicap system. There is no reason a person has not paid for their 2008 handicap by now.

With many of the members doubting the choice of days at Shaker Run the weather held off and turned into a pleasant day for golf. The 2nd tournament of the 2008 year was held at Shaker Run. The tournament was won by Tim Smiley, Dan Price, Bruce Borders and guest, Robert Thorstenson.

In an effort to get information to the members TJ Cope has developed a website with information about past and future tournaments. Log on if you have internet and check it out. We will try to use more of this in the years to come.. The web page site is:

Anyone who has not paid for his or her membership will no longer receive anymore information by mail or the internet after this letter. You will be dropped from the internet and mailing list.

Also individual and team scores can be seen on the website for every tournament. Also there is a list of all active members along with their handicaps on this page.

For some of the new players, there is an accumulated yearly point system that pays out at the end of the year. These points can be seen on the website under yearly results. We hope the new players can recruit some friends to join MAGA also. There is a $5 rebate for every new member that joins.

The next tourney is May 10, 2008 at Beckett Ridge. This is the second year MAGA has played this course. The format is four man  triple best balls.Tee times will start at 1:00 PM. With a shotgun start. We were asked by the course to shotgun and I agreed to do so and they lowered the price of golf a little bit. The cost of this tourney is $56 that includes greens fee, cart and prizes  The entry deadline is April 30th.

Remember to send in your side games with your entry so there is no confusion and you are not left off the list.
