The 3rd tournament of the 2007 year was held at Beckett Ridge for the first time for a MAGA Tourney that I am aware of on a day that was beautiful weather wise. The greens were not like I thought they would be. Three weeks earlier they were lightning fast, but aeration was done to slow them down.
Just a reminder that there is no guarantee if you cancel out after paying your entry fees that you will get a refund. We try to find replacements but if not you may lose your money. We have to give the course a number of golfers 10 days in advance and some of the courses lock you in on that number.
There are a handful of members who do not have partners all the time. If you sign up as a single we will pair those people together if you want to play. We had forty golfers for this tourney but struggled to find some people to play after a couple of cancellations at the last minute. Also some of the entries are coming a day late in the post office box. Try to mail them as soon as possible so they will get there in time.

The next tournament will be held at Hueston Woods. The date of this tournament will be June 9th with tee times starting around 8:00 AM. The format of this tourney is a 4 MAN all balls. Sign up as a twosomes and teams will be blind drawn. This price of $42 does not include a cart or range balls. The deadline for this tourney is May 30, 2007. You can walk if you want too. People will be paired by a blind draw. Handicaps are the responsibility of the individuals. I do not post scores for your USGA handicaps. You must do that yourself. of scores for your USGA handicaps. Like all of our remaining tourneys full handicap will be used. We do occasionally check to see if some of our people post scores. If someone continues to stay at a higher handicap in their USGA without posting all their scores we will question their handicaps and adjust if necessary. After checking handicaps prior to Beckett Ridge there are more than 15 players who either have posted selected scores or none at all. People who do not have a paid handicap from here on out will not receive the adjusted handicaps to the course rating we play. I will start adjusting handicaps if certain people dont start posting scores. You will be singled out in the future so everyone knows who is not playing by the rules. Some players played in more MAGA Tourneys than they had posted scores from last year. This will not be tolerated and is not fair to the people who do post their scores. There are some that dont even post their high scores either. You can post your scores on the internet from your home. If you need help in doing this, give TJ Cope a call and he can explain it to you.
This will be the last mailing to members who have not paid for the 2007 memberships.
