The 7th tournament of the year was won by two teams with a score of 56 points. They were Don Hartness and Glynn McNaughton playing as a guest in his first tournament and Darrell Townsend and Jim Zimmer. Each team received $120 a piece. The day was hot and the course was set up fairly easy for this event. There was a chance to score low if you played well. Low round was shot by Jamie Johnson with an even par 71 consisting of 5 birdies. Don Hartness continued to play well winning his second straight low net. On the negative side of this tourney, I have no control of the tee placements or pin placements. Also I did not know we would be locked out of the clubhouse after the hot round. This tourney saw only 6 of 36 players raise their MAGA handicaps. The next tournament will sign-up as an individual for Saturday and a two man team on Sunday. Foursomes will be determined by a blind draw for both days.

The next tournament will be held at Weatherwax Golf Course. The date of this tournament will be September 10th & 11th with tee times starting at 12:30 PM. The format of this tourney will be two separate tourneys in one. Saturdays format will be a single man low net. Sundays format will be a two man scramble and the last nine will be a two man alternating shot. The only explanation is for the last nine. The last nine will have both members teeing off, then taking the shot of your choice. Once you select the shot you will alternate all remaining shots for that hole until you finish that hole. If you only play one day you are only entitled for the prizes for that day. On Saturday there will be side games of low gross and skins only. On Sunday the only side game will be a skins game costing each player $5. The deadline for the Weatherwax Tournament will be Wednesday August 31st .
