In an effort to get information to the members TJ Cope has developed a website with information about past and future tournaments. Log on if you have internet and check it out. The web page site is:

MAGA.TJCOPE.NET

Remember to pay your membership fee even if you have not played yet. Anyone who hasn’t paid by May will be dropped from e-mails and future mailings.

The next tournament will be held at Shaker Run. The cost for this tournament will be $57. Included in this price will be golf, cart, range balls and tournament prize fund.  The GPS System tells you the yardage you have left from your ball location to the pin.

The date of this tournament will be April 16th with tee times starting at 8:30 AM. The format of this tourney is a 2 man alternating hole. Sign up as a twosome. Like all our remaining tourneys full handicap will be used. If new players have not yet established a handicap by tournament time, I will figure it. Scores must be posted at your respective courses.

For the new members there are optional side pots that consist of low gross, low net and skins. If a person didn’t have a paid handicap for the first tourney he should get one before the next date. There were 4 that fell into this situation. Some courses will drop you at the beginning of the calendar year. So get your handicap cards paid for.

These side jackpots can be sent in with your entry fee if you know that you are going to get into them. This will help free up time for the people running the tournament to also hit some balls. All players should check in at the table or designated location so the tournament committee knows they are at the course and also to see if they are interested in getting into the side jackpots.

The deadline for the Shaker tournament will be Wednesday April 6th. This date is a little quick notice so get your entries in as soon as possible.

We had 3 new players that played in the first tournament of the year. I hope we continue to recruit new players for  MAGA.

Our biggest problem last year was solved when we quit taking late entries unless it is needed to even the teams or foursomes. This means that entries must be received before the deadline.

Don’t get shut out if you want to play.

On our May Tourney it will be two separate tourneys. At the time of scheduling I didn’t realize that the Sunday Tourney is on Mothers Day. I hope this will not create a problem with anybody.

On our October Tourney we will not be playing Wildwood Golf Course because they wanted too much to play there in October. We will add another course at a later time.

Remember there is a dress code at Shaker Run. No blue jeans or cut-off jeans are allowed.
