MAGA

Although it does not look like golf season yet, it is just around the corner. Below is a list of the 2003 schedule and proposed formats. The prices of the events will be sent out in future letters. Most tournaments will run between $45 to $59. Most golf courses are raising their fees at least $1 or $2. That price includes golf, carts and prize fund. Some courses will supply driving range balls. Again this year prizes will be awarded for the accumulated totals for Money Winners, Net Points and Gross Points. All tournaments will count in tabulating the year end totals. Since I did not here from any of you on course selections, the courses were picked and scheduled as follows. Information for this year and past can be obtained by going to MAGA website of WWW.TJCOPE.NET/MAGA

The 1st tournament for the 2003 season will be a 2 Man best ball with full handicap. There will be individual closest  to the pins on all par 3’s. Also there will be an optional gross, net and skins jackpots for whoever is interested. Those side jackpots will be $5 per man. Tee times will start around 10:00 AM and range balls are included in this tournament. The price of this tournament will be $52. The entry deadline is something that needs to be met for all tournaments this year. Most of the courses require 7 to 10 days in advance notice on how many players are participating. This tournament deadline is March 19th. Entry fees and monies must be received by this day. When arriving at the course for the tournament please come and check in so we know everyone is present. USGA handicaps must be paid for 2003 before the May tournament. Also when entering your first tournament you must pay your membership fee. This fee can be paid anytime before the first tournament if you want too. Also when sending in your membership application, fill in all of the blanks so the board can update any changes from last years information. Also remember if you sign up for internet access, which includes tee times, newsletters and entries your membership fee is $20. If not your membership fee will be $25 and all paperwork will be mailed to you. We are trying to encourage internet mailing to eliminate some of the time factor in getting results and to encourage earlier entries. Also try to persuade others into joining MAGA to boost the number of players. For every new member a $5 rebate will be given to the current member who persuaded the person to join and play. The number of rebates are unlimited. Also there are some possible new members who are joining as singles. So if anyone is looking for a partner or has any other questions give me a call:
